Q & A

Subject: Travel from Bordeaux to Biarritz.

Question: What is the best way to get down from Bordeaux to Biarritz leaving Bordeaux early afternoon?

Answer: I would suggest that you take the train to get to Biarritz from Bordeaux. I looked on the SNCF (French Train Company) wed site, http://www.sncf.com, I used July 19th as a test date and there were four trains leaving in the afternoon, cost one way/adult 29 euros. The times for all but the 15:00 train where about 2 hours. You could also drive (1/2 hour driving time), you would get the most freedom for sightseeing, but unless you’re going with a group it would cost you more. You can easily buy train tickets the day of your trip from any train station. The train station, Gare Saint Jean, in Bordeaux is just outside the center.
