WineDrive is an on-line club for wine lovers visiting France. It is the only web site which identifies top quality French vineyards giving detailed directions to find them.

The site gives comprehensive details of over 100 family owned vineyards, most with a family history as winegrowers going back many centuries, some dating back to Roman times. They produce fine wines that are highly regarded or award winners, and which also come with history, giving you something special to talk about when serving your choice of wine to friends and family.

WineDrive does not sell wine - it provides information and directions to the best vineyards, together with routes, accommodation and travel information. Its producers offer some 1,000 wines covering more than 150 appellations from Alsace, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Loire Valley, the Rhône Valley and Provence plus the south west and Languedoc.

The vineyards are indexed by region allowing instant identification of those which speak English and take credit cards. They can also be selected by price or appellation.

WineDrive Premier Pages also simplify the planning of a vacation with a wealth of up-to-the-minute information on possible delays, road works and public events, plus comprehensive routes with tourist/historical notes about towns and places of interest en-route. Routes with itineraries can be downloaded in a printer friendly format.

Winedrive has a special service for American and Canadian members arriving in France by air or from other European destinations. Its on-line route information is primarily for tourists arriving by car form the UK, so winedrive will prepare personalized routes and help select vineyards which meet any preferred taste in wine. They suggest which wine regions to visit to find the 'right' wines and also recommend the best mode of transport so members don't waste too much vacation time driving the length and breadth of France.
