Manifone Telephony

Anyone looking to save money on their phone bill should take a look at Manifone. Manifone offers a number of calling plans that help save money on international phone calls.

I tried the Mani Minutes plan. For free I was able to open up an account within a matter of minutes. My account started with .30 euros of credit. That way I was able to give it a try and see if I liked it before having to pay.

With Mani Minutes I’m able to call the US using my cell phone for .03 euros per minute. As long as I don’t go over the allotted monthly calling time I have with my cell phone provider, I’m only paying .03 euros per minute for an international call. Normally calling the US through my cell phone would cost over .50 euros per minute.

How it works is simple. In my Mani Minutes account I have a phonebook with local French phone numbers. Each starts with a 01. Next to each is a text box where I can type in the desired number I would like to call. I just type in the phone number and click save. Now, when I call that local French phone number in my phonebook, I’m in fact calling the number I typed in. The call is automatically forwarded.

Manifone also has a 'Mani In' plan where you get a local phone number in a selected number of countries (soon to be 30) where you can be called. The call is then redirected to your home number. So if you live in France someone in the US can call you through a local US phone number and the call will be sent to your number in France.
