Q & A

Subject: Frankfurt to Paris via a scenic route.

Question: We will be driving from Frankfurt to Paris at the end of the month (and from Paris back to Frankfurt at the beginning of Sept). Can you suggest a scenic route? We won't have too much spare time but would like to see some pretty countryside and maybe some quaint towns.

Answer: Your general route from Paris to Frankfurt will be, Paris to Chalons en Champagne, Chalons en Champagne to Metz, Metz to Strasbourg, and finally Strasbourg to Frankfurt. I would suggest the northern Vosges mountains as a scenic detour. I would suggest you drive from exit 46(town of Hochelden) of the Autoroute(French highway) A4 to Bouxwiller, then on to Wimmenau and finally to La Petite-Pierre. You can stop off at any town along the way, you will not be disappointed. From La Petite-Pierre, after walking around the town and maybe getting lunch, you should head to Savern, and visit the center of it. The total driving time will be around two hours, that’s the circle of Hochelden to Savern.
