Q & A

Subject: Foods from Brittany.

Question: What are specialty regional dishes of Brittany and what are their main ingredients? Is there any interesting history behind these dishes?

Answer: The one specialty food that I know of from Brittany is Crâpes. Crâpes are a thin like pancake that are made from flower, eggs, water and a little oil. If they're sweet then you would also add sugar. Crâpes are not eaten by themselves, they will have a filling, ham and cheese, cheese and eggs etc, or if sweet, chocolate and a banana or even ice cream. Restaurants specializing making Crâpes are called Crâperis can be found all over France, not just in Brittany. You drink hard cider when eating Crâpes.
