Q & A

Subject: Fall weather in Paris.

Question: I am planning a trip to Paris this fall -- in part to go shopping and visit the city. I wanted to know when would be the best time and what the weather would be like. I will be there for about 6 days, and would like to spend 3 days in the city and maybe make one trip to a location outside of Paris...suggestions welcome.

Answer: The weather in Paris in the fall could be anything, rainy, sunny or overcast with temperatures anywhere from the 40's to the 70's. I know that is not much help but weather in France from my experience is hard to predict. I would advise you to go as early in the fall as possible, I think that is when you will get the best weather. As for places to go out side Paris, I would suggest any of the fallowing, Chartres(A touristy yet small town with a very beautiful church, http://www.ville-chartres.fr/anglais/index.html), Versailles(http://www.chateauversailles.fr) or Auvers-sur-Oise(Where Vicente van Gogh is buried and where he painted the last years of his life. Thought out the village there are reproductions of his panting in the spot where they were painted.) All of the above can be gotten to by train from Paris, tickets can be bought at any SNCF(The French national train company, http://www.sncf.com) office.
