Genevois RegionLe Môle Le Môle is the first mountain you see when driving away from Geneva on the A 411 Autoroute. Its summit is easily recognizable from miles around. Le Môle is part of the Mont Blanc mountain chain but don’t worry unlike the Mont Blanc the snow melts in the summer on Le Môle. Even during the winter you will be able to hike Le Môle. Le Môle is 1,863 meters - 6,112 feet high and is rated as an easy hike from the north side parking lot, 2,000 feet below the summit. The hike takes about an hour a half and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Its also possible to hike from the village of La Tour to the summit. From the summit of Le Môle you can, on a clear day view the Mont Blanc, Jura Mountains and Lake Geneva. Le Môle is located about an hours drive east of Geneva just next to Bonneville. Easiest access to Le Môle is to take the either the A40 Autoroute or the N205 road to Bonneville. Once in Bonneville take the D19 to Marignier. Once in Marignier take the D306 road out of the village and then take the mountain road on your left direction Le Môle. The mountain road twist and turns a lot so be careful and takes about 20 minuets to get to the parking lot. Once at the parking lot you can start your hike near the fountain. Even if you don’t hike to the top of Le Môle you can still enjoy yourself, as there are a number of different wild flowers that grow during the spring and summer on Le Môle. Plus a number of Montbeliard cows make Le Môle their summer home and their bells make for great mountain music! Related Links:
