Barge Holiday with Johanna Charters

Enjoy Northern France - Alsace, Lorraine and the Ardennes as only a barge will let you! You will absorb the scenery at a relaxing pace on your fully equipped holiday home aka the ‘Johanna.’ A Dutch river barge constructed in 1923 and in use until the 90’s.

The Johanna has been transformed to accommodate up to eight passengers. You will have a fully operational kitchen at your disposal along with bikes and of course the deck where you can have your meals.

You will be able to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of river life and experience France as never before.

The Johanna will wind its way through rivers and canals stopping along the way near towns, villages or in the middle of nowhere. It all depends on what you would like. Many rivers and canals have bike paths that you can cycle or just walk along if you like.

The Johanna has four single cabins, one two-tier cabin and a saloon with a double bed. There are two bathrooms with washbasins and a shower. You can prepare your own meals in the kitchen. It’s possible to buy local produce along the way. Or if you prefer, you can eat out at one of the many restaurants along the way, eating French cuisine and local specialties. What could be better than that?
