As the summer vacations start so does traffic congestion on French roads. July has one of the two Black (very heavy) traffic days of the year – Saturday July 28th. As always it’s the weekend to watch out for. Only the weekend of July 1st has both Saturday and Sunday green. The worst weekend is July 27th and 28th. Depending on the direction of traffic the days are between Orange (moderate) to Black (very heavy). Also three Fridays, again depending on the direction of traffic, are rated as Orange (moderate) and one as Red (heavy). The good news is that during the week – Monday to Thursday it’s all green. If you need to travel it’s advisable to do so then.
