Rendez-vous: 10:00 in front of the church St. Michel, Chamonix

CHAMONIX – PERSPECTIVES, PASSAGE-WAYS AND FINE CUISINE

SERVOZ – A VILLAGE OF CONTRASTS AND CHARM

Free if booked at least the day before the walk and must book via the Tourist Office in Les Houches - 04 50 55 50 62.

Shhhh!! It’s a secret! Through discreet glances of this close-knitted community, we will try to understand why Servoz, so profoundly rural, attracts so many people anxious to settle down here. The local creative chef invites us into the backstage of his bustling kitchen. Artists welcome us to their workshops.

Rendez-vous: 10:00 on the parking in front of the Hôtel des Gorges, Servoz

COUPEAU, LES HOUCHES – GOLDEN RAYS IN LATE AFTERNOON

Coupeau!! An exceptional location, charged with positive energy, where the sun lingers on and on into the evening….Ideal for sunset photography due to the warm light which bathes the pristine environment and highlights the ancient farms.

VALLORCINE – CRAFTSMEN, GARDENS & TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE

A most unique village which has maintained its ancient traditions and mountain identity. From the road, little can be seen. One must take the time to stroll along the village passage-ways and country paths, talk with the locals, drink spring water from a fountain… Admirable wood-working craftsmen make up some of the pleasant encounters on our walk.

Monday: 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 August 2011

Rendez-vous: 10:30 in front of the Vallorcine SNCF train station

MONTROC, LES FRASSERANDS

We will try to capture, through observation and photographs, the unique character of this hidden hamlet, nestled in between peaks and glacier ice where a traditional way of life in the mountains still lingers… Wonderful old alpine chalets, sumptuous gardens and a gripping view of the Mont-Blanc range will captivate you.

Friday: 19 August 2011

Rendez-vous: 10:15 in front of the Montroc Le Planet SNCF train station
