ParisDa Vinci Code

Dan Brown's thrilling bestseller The Da Vinci Code takes place in the heart of Paris. The Da Vinci Code visits such well know attractions as the Louvre Museum, Jardins des Tuileries and L'arc du Carrousel. Along with some lesser-known attractions like, Saint-Sulpice church, Pont du Carrousel and the American Embassy. Also in The Da Vinci Code are the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Pace Vendôme and Gare St Lazare to just name a few.

Even though The Da Vinci Code is fiction it still gets a lot of the geography of Paris right. For example there is a Pyramide Inversée in the Louvre and from the L'arc du Carrousel you have a clear view of the Louvre. The Da Vinci Code being fiction does get a few things wrong. The Pyramide Inversée is not visible from the Louvre's main lobby and from the L'arc du Carrousel only the Musee d'Orsay's roof is visible. Both the Pompidou Center and the Jeu de paume Museum are not visible from the L'arc du Carrousel, as the book implies.
