Non-French TidbitsSt-Bernard Pass By Jim and Emmy Humberd We visited the kennel at the hospice established by St. Bernard of Menthon in the 900s AD, found several large St. Bernard dogs on display, and enclosures that held a half dozen puppies. The atmosphere, the surroundings and the equipment were just about, but not quite, what one would expect at this ancient, storied mountain top. The unexpected? In this century-old monastery, the pans containing the dog food were Coca-Cola trays. Books by Jim and Emmy Humberd:
