Non-French TidbitsDubrovnik Yugoslavia

By Jim and Emmy Humberd

Dubrovnik Yugoslavia

This view from the top of this long stair case, shows that the sides of the city inside the wall go part way up a hill, so there are many steps to get from level to level. A close examination of the photo revealed that the three 'white spots' at the middle, near the bottom of the photo, is the face of a lady in a black dress and head scarf, with a shopping bag in each hand.

In the morning the market place near the church was filled with fruit and vegetable dealers. By early after lunch the peddlers were gone, the garbage trucks had carried off the clutter, the market area had been hosed down and cleaned, tables and chairs were put in place, and Dubrovnik's sidewalk cafes were again open and serving both locals, and the multitude of tourists.
