Vienne FranceTemple of Augustus

The Temple of Augustus has stood in the center of Vienne France for almost 2000 years. Constructed around 20 to 10 BC as a part of a forum in Vienne. It was originally dedicated to the Roman god Augustus, hence the name.

In the middle ages the Temple of Augustus became a church, it was restored in the second half of the 19th century. Today the Temple of Augustus is one of the highlights of a visit to Vienne. There is no public access to Temple of Augustus; there is a gate that surrounds it. You can get a very good close up view.
