Grignan CountryChamaret

Chamaret is a medieval village dominated by its tower fortress. The tower is easy to walk up to, even if it looks imposing! It offers a vast view of the local countryside, lavender fields, vineyards and farmhouses. The village of Chamaret is typical of the Rhone Valley, the homes are built very close together and have faded red roofs, and it's located on a hill and has narrow winding streets.

The tower's wall still has two original doorways, the 'Fountain' and 'North' doors.

Chamaret is not far from the Castle of Grignan, in fact both can be seen from the other. There is parking in the village that allows for easy access to the tower.
