I will be spending next year studying in Paris and my boyfriend is coming with me. I don't think he is elligible to apply for a Visa. Do you think he will have problems entering the country if his return airline ticket exceeds the 3 month stay? I was thinking he could just say he was travelling around Europe. I was also wondering if doing some traveling to Spain or Italy periodically (and getting his passport stamped)would work as a loophole.

Dear Erica, Let's see....82% of all people coming into France are without VISAS or at least the appropriate documents so I think that you shouldn't have too much to worry about. In order to do the "leave the country in order to come back legally thing" one must leave the European Union for more than 90 days. If your guy speaks french he should be okay. I'll get back to you about the student visa questions later. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
