By Dr. Loui Franke

Loui Franke and her husband divide their time between South Florida and Paris, France. They each retired from the world of medicine with her husband having received his degree in medicine from the Faculé de Médicine Cochin in Paris, France and Dr. Franke receiving her degree from the University of Maryland. They did what many only dream of, which is to set up a residence in another country. For several years, Dr. Franke wrote a blog of their experiences while living abroad. The concept for her book was thus born and now offers the reader a collection of short stories on living in Paris, places to visit, historical background, travel tips and photos. She calls them “snapshots” of their life in France. Although the primary focus is Paris, other destinations are described that are easy to visit by car, train or plane from the City of Lights. It is the author’s goal to motivate those who have not visited France to go, as well as to provide new places to explore for repeat visitors.
