Attractions The Battle of Agincourt, spelled Azincourt by the French took place on the 25th of October 1415 in Northern France near the villages of Agincourt and Trame-court. This battle between the English lead by King Henry V and the French lead by the Constable d'Albret was a total victory for the English who were vastly outnumbered. William Shakespeare in his Henry V has forever immortalized the Battle of Agincourt, this has given Agincourt a place in both history and literature. Read Henry V's Saint Crispin's Day Speech. Today in Agincourt there is a museum dedicated to the battle - Centre Historique Médiéval d’Azincourt that offers a very good overview of the battle, the weapons used and the causes and consequences of the clash at Agincourt. The museum also has a number of videos in English along with an interactive area, also in English. After visiting the museum visitors receive a map that has a driving tour of the battlefield. You can easily see the museum and tour the battlefield in a few hours. Agincourt is accessible from the A26 or A16 Autoroutes and is a few hours from Calais.
