Indre Property For SaleValencay

Stone built town house with most restoration completed in the attractive town of Valencay, close to

This is a substantial stone townhouse, set in a quiet street close to the famous chateau at Valençay. Ready to move in immediately, a large amount of restoration and modernisation work has been undertaken during the last few years, leaving only a modest amount to be done by new owners. On entering the property you are immediately taken by the generous size and proportions of the rooms. The kitchen diner at 7.4 x 4.75m is a good example. It has been renovated and given new kitchen units including an island workstation and sink area. The floor is tiled and a large area remains for a dining table and other furniture. The nicely decorated room faces the street but is not at all noisy. Connecting directly with this room through an arch is the living room, 6.2 x 4.8m, with windows facing the courtyard garden. There is a downstairs toilet accessible from here and another door leads outside. The garden needs a new patio and planting to bring it back into use but could be a good place for alfresco dining. From the garden there is access to the enormous garage and from there to the street. Two stone storage sheds and the fuel tank are located n the garden area. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a modern bathroom with shower and bath, a toilet and a couple of work areas. The bedrooms could easily be rearranged to provide en-suite facilities for each. Another stairway takes you up to the insulated loft space which offers great opportunities for further accommodation if it were needed, with a massive 120 sq.m. of space. The slate roof is in good condition; the electricity and plumbing are new and although there is no double glazing all the external walls have been insulated. This great property needs only a small amount of additional work to make it excellent and at this price we strongly recommend it. The pretty chateau town of Valençay offers all the facilities you could need, including a large weekly street market. It offers cobbles roadways, little shops and plenty of cafes and restaurants. It has been attractively preserved as the home of the Prince Talleyrand, foreign minister and chief entertainer to Napoleon. The chateau and gardens are rightly popular with visitors. Valençay is also well known for its excellent white wine and goats cheese and is unique in France for its recognition for each. Valençay is easy to access from the UK with flights from Stanstead to Tours, Poitiers and Limoges, while rail and road connections are fast and excellent. Paris is little more than two hours away.
