Subject: PACS and carte de séjour
Date: Friday, April 16, 2004
Name: Jennifer
Message: Currently my fiancé is in France and I am in the States and we are planning on getting married in 2 years when he finishes school, but I would like to join him in France before then. I would like to know if we get "PACSé" shortly after my arrival if I will be able to work and obtain legal papers to stay in France. Any information you have is helpful. Thanks.

Message Jennifer,

Unfortunately PACS are only recognized for French citizens. You would have to Married with your French fiance if you want to legally work in France.

Message there's no other way to get working papers without being married and becoming a citizen?
