Subject: marrying a french citizen in France
Date: Friday, January 16, 2004
Name: william
Message: Thanks to all those who responded to my earlier question. My new question is that now I am going to marry my fiancee in France. Then she is going to immigrate here after receiving her immigration visa. The embassy told us that this was more efficient then doing the fiancee visa. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, what paperwork do I need to submit to the town hall in France to get married? Where do I look for the nearest French translator in the US (france consul?).

Thanks so much William

Message I don't know about the stuff in france but I can for the proceedure to bring your wife to the US.

This is from the uscis website:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/spouselive.htm

There is a lot to read. There is a link on that page as far as filing proceedure. Here is that link also:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/Appproc.htm

Hope that helps you on that aspect.

Message have your fiance go to the mairie where she lives. She can get all the information that you two will need to get married where she resides.
