Hi, I'm planning to visit France in January 2004 to begin looking for an older, restored house in Limousin or Charente. Can anyone recommend a good estate agent or lawyer to help me find a property? Does anyone live in those areas and may I please pick your brains? Merci bien. Linda 6 Sept 2003

We bought a house last Thursday but in the Cher region. We did however view property in Limousin and all down the centre of France and mainly used the property agents Century 21 (www.century21france.fr) who were generally very helpful and most offices offer an after sales service ie. cleaning of your house before your arrival if simply using as a holiday home.
Can't help you much otherwise as a very new owner myself but hope this helps.

Hi
I have no agent contact for you, but try and go to another website forum, mainly used by english people interested in France:
www.totalfrance.com
There is a regional sub-forum for Limousin and one for charente, and I remember there was even somebody who offered to give tips for a good agent in one of the limousin departments.
You may come across a tip or you can ask the question there.
Best wishes Gertie
