Dear Monica,
My husband and I have recently bought a home in a mid-western area called the Poitou-Charentes, which is heavily-populated by British (with a sprinkling of Americans.) Poitiers is the main city and the surrounding villages and countryside are lovely. There are opportunities to learn French at many levels (friend teaches beginners) and the local people are quite friendly. Contact me if you'd like more info. Colleen |
