Hi I am born to a french mother. My maternal side every one are french. My father and paternal side are not french. Am I eligible for french nationality. I am 29 yrs old. However assuming I can I have filled in an application and send my birth certificate where my mothers name is stated. Along with my maternal grand parents documnets and mothers nationality papers. I have also send my fathers birth certificate his documents. As Hindu tradition my parents did not get their marriage registered. So I have send them marriage photos along with Priest certificate who conducted the marriage. Can some one give me some ideas over this issue. I have send all these documents on October,2005 and waiting to hear from them. Any idea about service de la nationalite du tribunal, Paris. Any help would be very much appreciated.

It is important to realize that there are BIG differences between getting a carte de sejour and french citizenship. There should be no reason why you couldnt get the carte de sejour with your background.
Here is a good link regarding citizenship: http://www.france-usa.org/france/citizenship.htm
Bonne chance !

Take a look at the "French citizenship" thread right below this one - there's a link that provided that will help you out. I think the answer might be no though, unless you've lived on French soil.
