Are there any American expat groups in the St. Remy area? We are moving there next summer and would like a safety net. tku

dear Viktor,
My french wife, our children and I should be arriving in the South of France sometime in the summer of 2007. We currently live near Brussels while I finish my military service.
I'm from Santa Clarita , CA. So, knowing someone from "back home" would be nice.
We will probably be looking to live in the area between Toulon and Marseille, near where my in laws are.
Hope everything works out for your move. And maybe we'll meet in S.O.F.

Dear Lori, thank you for your reply. I will follow up as you have advised.
We live in Pasadena, California at the moment but know of your village. In fact, some of our fellow students at Alliance Francaise here have rented a village house there, owned by an American couple from Alhambra--unfortunately, I have forgotten the woman's name but met her at the Alhambra Sunday market much attended by the local Chinese-American community in the area.
Best regards,
Victor

Victor - I don't know of any groups per se, but there are many Americans in the general area. We live in Bedoin (at the foot of Mt. Ventoux) about 30 minutes from St. Remy. Try posting the question at www.livingfrance.com in the forum. It is primarily used by British folks, but there are Americans on the forum too.
Good luck with your move.
