Bordeaux![]() Dune du Pilat - Largest sand dune in Europe at over 340 feet high. At the top is a beautiful ocean view. The walk up can be tough, but well worth it. Beach is nice too, after that long walk a dip in the ocean is refreshing. Arcachon - Town on the edge of the Bassin d'Arcachon. 45 minute drive from Bordeaux. My suggestion is a seafood meal in one of the beachfront restaurants. You get the best of France, great food and ambiance. Hotels in Arcachon: The Arcachon tourist office web site is - http://www.arcachon.com Saint-Émilion - This has to be the most beautiful village in France. Built on the side of a hill overlooking the wine country. Makes for a nice day trip but your once your there you will never want to leave. Don't mess a tour of the monolithic church, tours in English ask at the tourist office. 30 minute drive from Bordeaux on the N83. Hotel in Saint-Émilion: The Saint-Émilion tourist office web site is - http://www.saint-emilion-tourisme.com/ Médoc - Discover France's national heritage and drive through this wine region.
