Montceaux-l'Étoile
The church in Montceaux-l'Étoile was built during the 12th century. Above its doorway is a beautiful work of art, a carving of the Ascension of Jesus with the apostles underneath and an angel on both sides.
Burgundy Views
Three photos of light fog in Burgundy France taken May 2012. Location is near Tournus in Southern Burgundy.
Ascension
The Ascension of Jesus is a national holiday in France, one of six related to Christianity. Ascension always falls on a Thursday, 40 days after Easter Sunday. Because of this, it's not uncommon for many French people to Faire le Pont - make a long weekend out of the Ascension holiday.
Anzy-le-Duc
This is considered the most beautiful Romanesque Church in the Brionnais region. Its three story octagonal bell tower and sculptures above the doorway doesnt disappoint. Neither does its rediscovered 10th century crypt or the 40 capitals. If you see one church in the Brionnais make sure its this one.
