App
Parts of this study guide can be found in my app France: Rules of the Road. It's meant for tourist but has all the road signs listed here.

License
The license (Permis de Conduire) in France needed to drive a car is the B type (Permis B). It is a 12 point-based license.

Regulatory Signs
Below are French signs that regulate parking. The rectangle signs with a white background are use to regulate parking zones.

French Driving Terms
Aire - Rest stop, often having a gas station, restaurant or other services.

Special Conditions
Information about driving at night and in bad weather.

Parking Related
Three sections all about parking in France.

Rules Part 2
Town entrance signs are rectangular, have white backgrounds and red borders. Unless otherwise posted, town speed limits are 50 km/hr. Honking is not allowed except in case of immediate danger. Priority roads lose their priority when they enter a town. There may or may not be a sign to that effect (shown in the example to the right) with the town entrance sign.

Passing
Passing happens in 3 phases: 1. If the road ahead is clear, turn on the left turn signal and move to the lane to the left; 2. Pass on the left with your turn signal on the whole time; 3. Move back into the right lane with right turn signal on.
