Here is the traffic estimation in France for April 2010. There are school holidays during April (see French School Holidays 2009-2010) plus two national holidays: Good Friday and Easter Monday.
In terms of traffic the worst time is during the first weekend of the month (Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd) and the Monday that follows the 5th. After that you need to watch out for the 16th and 17th. Both days are orange nationwide.
