BurgundyPostage in France 1903-1938

Thanks to the postcards below we can see the history of postage in France from 1903 to 1935. In 1903 it cost .10FF to mail a postcard. By 1921 the cost had risen to .15FF and by 1935 the cost was .50FF. As France doesn't have a postcard rate, they're the same as a letter we can guess the same was true from 1903 to 1935. Thus the examples below give us a good idea of the cost to mail a letter from 1903 to 1935.

All postcards are of Southern Burgundy - Saône-et-Loire department. The first two are of the towns of Louhans and Chalon-sur-Saône. The last is the village of Montjay.

Postcard dated 1903 with .10FF postage.

Postcard dated 1921 with .15FF postage.

Postcard dated 1935 with .50FF postage.
