Q & A

Subject: Where do I go to exchange my driver's license for a French one?

Question: Great site! Where do I go to exchange my driver's license for a French one?

Answer:

You need to go to your nearest Préfecture or sous Préfecture. For a straight exchange you need to have license from one of the following states, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Kentucky. Otherwise you need to go through the process like you are a new French driver. See my how-to to get a French license at, http://www.americansinfrance.net/driving/FrenchLicense.cfm.
