Q & A

Subject: When can I return to France?

Question: If I spend two or three months in France (less than the 90 day limit for travelers without a long stay visa) how soon after leaving the country can I legally return?

Answer: As I understand it once you leave a country that stay is over and as soon as you want, the next day even, you can return. I would not worry about it though, as the French rarely stamp passports, so no one really knows when you entered the country. Also the French really want you tourist dollars, so the longer the stay the better for them.
