Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingWhat is it really like to live in France

Question: I'm curious about what it's really like to live, and possibly work in France. My wife is there temporarily, working for an American firm, and she really likes France. I wonder how hard is it to get a job, buy a place to live, etc. when you're one of those Americans.

Do you think a Tennessee ridge-runner can fit in France? Someone who will probably end up speaking French with a southern accent. That should be interesting.

Answer: Living here is great but finding work is VERY difficult if not impossible, even for French people. As an expat the chances of you finding anything steady are slim and none. I speak from experience. Why do you think my site is so large? Because I have spent most of my three years in France unemployed, I'll add that I speak very good French. About finding a place to live see - Apartment Hunting in France Good luck!
