Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingStudy in Paris

Question: I am pursuing my MA in Paris. My boyfriend is coming with me. He has to find a job/go to school. So, I was first wondering if you had any suggestions about that? I believe my MA program helps us find housing in Paris, but do you have any suggestions about where/where not to live? Or how expensive rent usually is? This website is awesome!!! Thank you so much! It totally answers a lot of my questions.

Answer: You need to be realistic about your boyfriend finding work. If he doesn't have the right to work and doesn't speak French then he is going to have a VERY difficult time finding work. I'd say no chance. He could of course work under the table but than that's all about contacts, something he might not have being new to France. I'm not sure about rents in Paris; I would guess they are highest in France. I would put a one-bedroom apartment in Paris at about 500 euros a month. Of course that could be way off. I have no suggestion as to where to live in Paris, it's a wonderful city and I think you will not be disappointed no matter where you live.
