Q & A

Subject: Sim Cards(smart cards).

Question: I will be visiting Paris for three weeks this summer. I would like to bring my cell phone with me, but as I'm based in China, it would be too complicated, not to mention too expensive to use my China Mobile account. Is it possible to purchase a Sim card inexpensively when I arrive in Paris? Here the cards cost as little as $3. You pay for the calls you make using prepaid cards or by charging your account at the bank. Will anything like that be possible in Paris? I know that my phone is compatible with the European cell phone system.

Answer: You should be able to find sim cards in Paris, look for a Tabac(a store that sells cigarettes, newspapers, etc. and can be found in any town in France and allover Paris.) or a store selling cell phones, they seem to be everywhere in France.
I personally don’t have a cell phone, I have friends that do, most tell me that they buy cards(Sim, I am guessing.), that let them call for a certain amount of time. The prices in Paris might be more than you are expecting as France tends to be very expensive.
