Q & A

Subject: Paris to Chartres.

Question: Hi, I would like to travel to Chatres at the end of November. I looked at the SNCF website but did not find any trains. I was wondering if you knew how I could get to Chatres from Paris. Any websites you recommend or any bus companies that go there. Thanks.

Answer:

Did you mean Chartres the town in the Ile-de-France that has the church with the famous stain glass? If so there are trains hourly leaving from Paris, Gare Montparnasse, cost 11.60 euros. The trip takes about an hour and you can easily buy your tickets just before you leave, no need to make a reservation. I took my mother to Chartres when I lived in Paris, it was a very nice daytrip.
