Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingImport Car into France

Question: We are planning to move back to France, as my husband is on sabbatical leave from his position there. We are wondering if we can import our Chrysler minivan into France. Do we need to have modifications made to the vehicle to use the gas there, to pass the controle technique, etc? Thanks very much.

Answer: As I understand it any modifications needing to be done can be made in France. My suggestion is to not ship your car to France, from reading this thread - shipping a new car to france it seems to be more trouble than it is worth.
