Q & A

Subject: How the French view Americans.

Question: I've enjoyed you site. It is very informative. I was wondering if you had any ideas on how the French view Americans. Thank you.

Answer: Your is not an easy question, as I have found the French people to hold varying views of Americans. Most I would say have a positive view of Americans, but the ones holding negative views, seem to be the most vocal. Just about all French people probably hold a view of Americans based on our popular culture, as it is everywhere in France, TV radio, etc. I know that some see this as an Americanization of France and a threat. But others don’t feel this way, those as the ones wearing Nike tennis shoes and eating at McDonalds. You can also throw into the mix that Americans make up a large percentage of the tourists that visit France, so they have to put up with us wither they like us or not.
