Q & A

Subject: Four hour layover in Paris.

Question: Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me. In two weeks (Sept. 8th) I'm flying to Cairo, and I have a 4 hour layover both directions in Paris. (I'm flying into Charles De Gaulle airport). Is there any quick way to get to the Eiffel Tower or some cute little cafe' for lunch speaking only a minimum of French and having only a minimum of time to do so? Merci Beaucoup!

Answer: One thing you might do is take the RER into Paris, as I remember it takes about 45 minuets and then you could walk around Paris. I can’t remember how much it costs, but I know that it is the cheapest way to get in to Paris, in under and hour. You would take the RER B and you could get off at either Chatelet-les-Halls, a big shopping center with lot of street happenings, street performers. Or you could get off at St-Michel, it is right next to the Ile de la Cité, where Notre Dame is. I don’t think that there is anything that you could do within walking distance from Charles De Gaulle airport, I remember it to be very insolated, as is any airport. Let me know what you do.
