Q & A

Subject: Fishing in Brittany.

Question: Is a fishing license required for fishing from the shore, harbor and tidal estuaries?

Answer: I believe, but am not a 100%, that you need to buy a carte de pêche(fishing card). You should be able to buy one at a Tabac(a store that sells cigarettes, newspapers, etc. and can be found in any town in France). To be on the safe side I would go to the nearest Office de Tourisme(Tourist Office) and ask them what you need. You could also try fishing in a Étang(fishing pond), there are a lot here in Alsace where I live.
