Q & A

Subject: Company wants me to move somewhere in Europe.

Question: I really would appreciate some help. I am an American working for an American company. We have no offices in France and have no desire to establish any. However, my company wants me to move somewhere to Europe to address the needs of numerous customers. I would like to move to France on a long-term basis and continue to be paid from in the States in dollars. Do you have any idea I can do this? Any resources you can mention? Any help would be appreciated.

Answer: My suggestion is to get a hold of your nearest French consulate or embassy, try this link, http://www.ambafrance-us.org/intheus/consulates.asp and just tell them what you want to do. Also try this link of the French American chamber of commerce, http://www.faccwdc.org/english/otherchambers.htm. That's all the resources I have.
Yes, it sounds possible but just realize that with the French, it takes time and lots of paperwork to get thing done. Good luck, Jeff.
