Americans in France is a web site aimed at helping Americans to better understand France, its people and culture. It is run by me, Jeff Steiner, an American living in Strasbourg France, a guy with a laptop, an Internet connection and I hope a good idea. I do not think of myself as a Francophile, I do think of myself as someone who, over the last few years, has had the opportunity to study France and her culture -- one who has seen and learned some of the differences between French and Americans. I have been head deep in French culture, my wedding for example, time with my in-laws, jobs; from those experiences I have learned many things that I would like to pass on to others. I am part of the new economy and so I have decided to use one of its offshoots, the Internet as my tool to teach others about France. My goal is to make the time an American or other English speaker spends in France a little more enjoyable, more of a cultural exchange. Enjoy! |
