-Thanks M and H for the info- Yes Heather I know that store-not bad- its just so economical to order on line in the states- here what i have found on line seems more about convenience and not less expense. My dog loves the Royal Canin- thanks M I will try that site! I read that Maxi-zoo-fresnap in germany right? anyway I read that they are opening stores around france- there is one outside strasbourg- this was a great store when I lived in Germany-

Hey there - congrats on your move to France. I personally order from Zooplus.com (it should show info in euros, not the .uk site in pounds). They also have a French site, but it tends to be more expensive. Zooplus is a German company and so far I think the Germans do a better job than the French when it comes to scope of offerings. I order Royal Canin for my pets and the best litter I've found so far in Europe for my cat. Also they have some things here and there that are quite good. I ordered the back seat cover - a bucket that keeps the pets in the back seat & from slipping onto the floor. 100% better than the one I had in the states. They aren't so great for cool collars & such. But they can't be beat for orderering food & litter and having free shipping. Good luck. Maryli

Val I do know of a nice pet store in your area where I would often buy things for my rabbit and cat. It is near the Cora in the Houssen shopping area. It is right next to the McDonald's in a strip mall kind of area.. I can't remember it's exact name but easy to recognize by the blue building and large parrot on the sign.
The sell a large vareity of things there, from pets to food supplies, leashes beds etc.. kind of like our Pet Smarts and Pet Cos. Worst case if you prefer maybe I can show you where it is myself. =)

Congrats on your move Val. I am in the Southeast of France. Where did you move to?
You will most likely find that the major supermarkets here, Auchan, E. LeClerc, Intermarche, Carrefour, etc. will all have sections for pets and pet food. Auchan generally carries a large line. They do not normally carry the finer pet foods. You will normally find those in hardware stores, agricultural shops and even gas stations. I buy my dogs food at two places locally, one is actually a gas station (they are a licensed Royal Canine distributor). You will also find large Pet shops (some very large) in the major commercial centers. Our commercial center in Le Pontet has a huge one. They sell everything you could think of.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks Lori- I was in the middle of moving over to France. Now settled and will look into it- just the general stuff- toys, treats, grooming stuff.

Val - there are several online websites that offer mail order animal products. You don't say what you are looking for. Many of the products sold in the U.S. can be found here. I don't have the websites noted, but if you go to www.livingfrance.com and go to the forum there, then scroll down and go into the Pets section, you can run a search and the websites should come up. If not, post the same question there and you will get your answers.
