PodcastAnne Trager

In this Podcast Jeff Steiner talks with Anne Trager, an American in Pibrac near Toulouse.
Anne is the founder and inspiration behind Le French Book, a digital-first publisher of French crime fiction novels in English.

"We're translating the books I love in French into English."

Anne begins with where she lives and what brought her to Southwest France. She talks about the differences between Pibrac and Paris and what people are like. Anne then talks about her background, Le French Book and the books that have been published: so far Le French Book has published three books - The Paris Lawyer, Treachery in Bordeaux and The 7th Woman.

Anne goes on to discuss translating and some of the differences between American and French courtrooms and the role of a lawyer in France. She then gives some suggestions for those thinking of moving to France and what she doesn't like about France. She ends by commenting that she was pleasantly surprised how open French publishers where to Le French Book and working with her.
