Daily LifeBourse aux Skis (Ski Swap)

If you live in France and are looking for a good deal on skis or other winter sports equipment then try a Bourse aux Skis. A Bourse aux Skis (sometimes called a Foire aux Skis) is a swap meet or ski swap were you can buy mostly used, or sometimes new ski equipment generally for a discount. A Bourse aux Skis is a great place to buy ski gear for kids who generally outgrow their equipment every few years.

Most Bourse aux Skis take place from October to November and are run by local ski clubs. Generally speaking either the ski club or people from the community sell their ski equipment. Those selling have to pay a percentage to the ski club so most Bourse aux Skis act as a fundraiser of sorts.

Just about all villages in the French Alps (or other ski areas) have a Bourse aux Skis, just look for signs along the road. It’s also possible to find a Bourse aux Skis is other areas of France.
