French HolidaysAscension

The Ascension of Jesus is a national holiday in France, one of six related to Christianity. Ascension always falls on a Thursday, 40 days after Easter Sunday. Because of this, it's not uncommon for many French people to Faire le Pont - make a long weekend out of the Ascension holiday.

Even if Ascension is a national holiday, there's no mail service for example, you can still find some stores and most tourist attractions open.

Dates for Ascension:
2017: May 25th
2018: May 10th
2019: May 30th
