American Military CemeteriesSt. Mihiel American Cemetery

The St. Mihiel American Cemetery is the final resting place to 4,153 solders who died during WWI. Most died during the St. Mihiel Offensive that took place from September 12-19, 1918. Along with the graves there is a memorial with a chapel and a sundial with an American eagle.

The St. Mihiel American Cemetery is open daily 9-5 (closed Christmas and New Year's Day), but there isn't always English speaking staff on the grounds for assistance. If someone isn't present then a phone number to call is posted in the cemetery office. The office is on the right after passing the gates.

St. Mihiel American Cemetery is on the D3 road at the western edge of Thiaucourt village. The cemetery is accessible from the A-4 Autoroute (motorway), exit 32, Fresnes-en-Woëvre.
