Southern BurgundyPlottes

Après Paris, Plottes (After Paris, Plottes). So stated Henry IV in 1562 during the wars of religion. He wanted to capture the castle at Plottes but had to want, as he needed to direct his armies to the defense of Paris first.
Plottes also has a bit of American military history attached to it - on November 13, 1944 a B26 bomber crashed in its woods killing all nine crewmembers. On November 13th, 2004, the 60th anniversary of the crash there was a memorial celebration. It was attended by over 100 people including relatives of the crash victims. There is a memorial dedicated to them in the town square.
