BrionnaisParay-le-Monial

Best known for its Sacred Heart Basilica, Paray-le-Monial is also a nice town a walk around. Sights include the Maison Jayet built between 1525 and 1528 in early French Renaissance style, now the local seat of government, medieval streets, homes and the Musée du Hiéron, a religious art museum.

Two waterways pass through Paray-le-Monial the Canal du Centre and the Bourbince River. The town is one of only two, the other is Mâcon rated as 4 flowers in Southern Burgundy - Saône-et-Loire department.

Paray-le-Monial is a good starting point for the circuit des églises Romanes du Brionnais – Romanesque Church route and is on the Voie Verte bike path.

Paray-le-Monial is off the N79 (and near the N70) road that runs between Mâcon and Moulins in the Brionnais area of Burgundy. The closest Autoroute is the A6.
