Bresse BourguignonneMontcony

Site of an airplane crash during WWII with no survivors.

The crew members were a mix of Royal Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force. They were buried in the Montcony cemetery.

There is a memorial on the crash site. It is on the D23 road direction Frangy-en-Bresse, just outside Montcony.

The memorial reads in part:

23 October 1942
Bresse
Is grateful
To the 9 crew
Of the RAF
Killed in glory
For the liberation
Of France
